In the summer of 2025, I traveled to Shanghai, China to participate in an intensive study at Tongji University College of Architecture and Urban Planning. With a team of 6 students from 5 countries, we produced the following framework for the revitalization of Fuxing Island, a small, urban island in the Huangpu River, which can help guide the island’s transition from industrial and military uses to a multi-purpose space with opportunities for residence, recreation, and education.
