More than an English Education: A Case Study of the English as a Second Language Program's Crisis Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic at Alamance Community College. Elon University Belk Library. Honors Theses Digital Collection 2022. Liz’s Elon University Honors Thesis took the form of an institutional ethnographic case study, understanding and evaluating the way that a North Carolina community college provided resources and information to non-native English speakers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Toward Ethnographic Justice: Equitable Research With and For Linguistically Diverse Communities. Young Scholars in Writing, vol. 20. Liz’s methodological reflection about working with vulnerable groups during a time of crisis was published in YSW in 2022.
Building Hope Campaign: Habitat Partners with Pierce County Housing Authority to Provide Affordable Rentals and Homeownership. Liz managed the public funding acquisition for the project, comprising approximately 1/3 of the total project cost.
Habitat for Humanity $14 Million Budget Allocation in the 2023 Legislative Session. Liz served as a Washington State Lobbyist, coordinating a team of lobbyists, organization leaders, and state legislator sponsors to successfully build an advocacy campaign for the largest investment in a single housing project in state history.

Strickland Delivers $500k for Affordable Housing.Liz worked with the US House Representative to secure half a million in discretionary funding for the Building Hope Campaign.
Habitat on the Hill 2024. Blog post for Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity. Liz served as a federal representative for Tacoma Habitat on Capitol Hill for Habitat International’s annual Advocacy Day.
Washington Governor Jay Inslee Visits Tacoma Habitat development. Liz initiated and coordinated the event to talk to the governor about the need for affordable homeownership in Pierce County.
Solid Carbon / Habitat for Humanity Partnership. Liz managed Habitat’s publicity and government relations as the organization became the first affordable housing provider to produce carbon-neutral single-family homes.
